Thanks so much!

Hey everyone, Peggy here with you today!  I just wanted to share with you a quick little thank you card I made for one of the boys teachers the other day using Geek but Unique.

I stamped my image onto Copic X-press It cardstock and coloured it with copics and finished it off with a little bit of glossy accents to give the glasses a little shine.

There is still lots of time to play along with YNS challenge #45, black and white +1 more!  And don't forget about the YNS 3 day sale still going on right now, all stamps are on sale, no special code needed!

Happy Birthday Isabel

It's Friday! YAY!

It's my niece Isabel's 3rd birthday today so we'll be heading over to see the family tomorrow for her little birthday party. Brandon just adores both his cousins Catherine and Isabel so he is super excited to be hanging out with his little buddies this weekend. The fact that Isabel and Brandon are so cute together inspired me to ink up this super adorable stamp Fhiona and Her Best Buddy Fhinn. I think this stamp is so stinkin' CUTE and it totally reminds me of Brandon and Isabel.

A few facts about this card...
  • stamped image using Brilliance Black Ink onto Copic X-press It
  • Colored with Copics
  • Ink frame is made by masking off the image and then sponging brown ink
  • Spellbinders Nestie is Labels Eight (a personal favorite!)
  • DP is from the Good Day Girl Sunshine Sampler Pack

Do you have any plans this weekend? I hope your weekend is full of fun and sun!

Until next time...

Happy Stamping!

YNS Challenge #45 - B+W+1

It's time for YNS Challenge #45 - YAY!

I really have so much fun with these challenges because it forces me to try new techniques and color combos that I may not try without being challenged to do so. It also forces me to stop 'working' for a while and take a break to create something which is why I chose this career in the first place...as much as I truly love all aspects of running YNS I really truly LOVE stamping and creating and we all need to take some time for a little creative therapy! Right?

Beth is our hostess with the mostess for Challenge #45 and she has challenged us to use Black and White plus 1 other color! At first I was like EEK! how am I going to only use 1 other color but as I started creating my challenge card I realized how much fun it is working with black and white and decided to go with teal as my color choice plus I snuck in a little (I mean alot) of grey...shhhh don't tell!

I went with a simple yet elegant style and I must say I'm quite pleased with the results...

I decided to ink up the adorable humming bird from the Humming Bird Beauty stamps set along with the sentiment from the Wishing You Wonderful stamp set. I paired it up with some Echo Park For the Record DP and of course some pearls and gems which I love to use on my cards! You can't see the pretty shimmer in the photo but the white cardstock is Cryogen White which is a beautiful shimmery cardstock and it's great for stamping and coloring with Copics! The black cardstock is from the shimmer collection pack - this is a really nice thick cardstock which I love using with my dies and punches.

We would love for you to join us so hop on over to the YNS Challenge Blog for all the details!

Happy Stamping!

I Dig My Dad!

Happy Father's Day!!

Hi everyone, Wendy with you here today.  I created this fun tent card for the kids to give to their Daddy today.  I wish I had remembered to take a photo from the side, but I completely forgot.  :(  The image I've used is Digger and I think is so fun!!  The sentiment was computer generated and printed on kraft cardstock.  I then used a woodgrain embossing folder to give it texture.  The DP is Basic Grey's - Max & Whiskers.

Keeping it short and sweet today...the kids and I made Daddy breakfast in bed (Belgium Waffles w/strawberries) gave him lots of gifts and now we are about to take a dip in the pool and grill out steaks later today.  Lot's of relaxing fun!!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Hugs,
Wendy

YNS Challenge #44 - Shape Cards

Hello! It's time for YNS Challenge #44 - YAY! DT member Maureen is our talented hostess and she has challenged us to make a shape card - no squares allowed! I love making shape cards so this was a really fun challenge for me.

I decided to ink up the super adorable Franfou Design Fetch the Dog...isn't he adorable? I've gotten a little more 'daring' when it comes to coloring...you'll see that I added some grass which is something I've never been all that good at but I think it turned out pretty darn good this time *grin*.

The sentiment 4YOU is from the new Scenes Sentiment set which is such a great set for so many different occasions.

Be sure to stop by the YNS Challenge Blog to check out all the details and enter your shape card for your change to win some YNS stamps! YAY!

June Guest Designer

Hello Friends!

It's June and we are finally getting some nice sunshine and HOT weather! YAY! Hopefully the sun is shining for you as well.

I'm excited to introduce you to our fabulous and talented June YNS Guest Designer...Jen Roach! Welcome to YNS Jen! I was so excited when I stumbled upon Jen's blog, she had entered a card into one of our YNS challenges and I instantly fell in love with her fun creating style.

Here's a tid bit of info about Jen in her own words...

Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer and I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband and 19 month old daughter. I'm a scientist by day and a paper crafter by night ---or really just about any free time I have including my lunch breaks at work!!

I started out in paper crafting back in about 2002 when my Mom and I took a scrapbooking class together. A few years later I decided to give card making a try and it's been my passion ever since. I'm the world's slowest scrapbooker so the instant gratification of card making really won me over. Over the years I have used more and more stamping in my designs and I love learning and trying new techniques and styles.

I would probably define myself as a "scrappy stamper". I *LOVE* patterned paper and most of my cards have lots of it with added layered on embellishments and textures. My cards may not be easy to mail but boy are they pretty!!

Other than crafting, I love to play tennis as you can probably tell from my blog address: http://tennisgirl27.blogspot.com/

I'm thrilled to be the guest designer this month for Your Next Stamp and I look forward to sharing my creations with you.

Check out this super cute card Jen made featuring the adorable stamp Birthday Surprise Fhiona...

Please be sure to pop by Jen's blog and give her warm welcome into the YNS family!

Happy Stamping!

Flutterbug Wishes

Hi everyone!  Peggy here to share a quick little card with you using the lovely Flutterbug Wishes set.

I airbrushed the background after cutting the sentiment panel and then decided to pop up the pretty little butterfly's wings for a little more dimension.

There  is also still time to play along with YNS Challenge #43 sketch for your chance to win!  Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,

I got into stamping about 2 years ago after I had my first Stampin’ Up party. I was instantly hooked LOL! Before then I had dabbled in scrapbooking, crocheting, sewing, quilting, jewelry making, and whatever other crafty whims that came my way. I think I have found my true passion in stamping and card making though! I also LOVE to make altered items and little gift boxes, etc. I am soooo excited and honored to be part of the Senior DT for Your Next Stamp! I am a second generation SAHM, which i call SAHGM. ("G" for grandma). I have been watching my grandkids for 7 yrs. I am also going through a second generation of crafting, i have a scrapbook that is almost 60yrs old filled with all of my favorite memories. I've been featured in Stamper's Sampler..more of an artsy card magazine...but my style tends to be "cute". Card crafting isn't the only thing i like to do, if i am not working on cards, you'd see me working at my sewing machine, crocheting or trying any new craft technique out there.. i love a challenge..which brings me to say..i can't wait to see what you all create for the YNS challenges!

Hi, I am Julie Elak, aka "The Last Minute Crafter". My days are kept busy working full time and running after my children. I use almost every free minute to craft, my purse is typically full of copics and a pari of scissors. I began stamping well over 10 years ago, but my love for paper crafting found renewed energy once I discovered the online community in 2009. I started a blog on a whim and am so happy I did. I have made many friendships and found so much support and encouragement on-line.

My name is Laura, and I am SO excited and honored to be joining the Your Next Stamp Team! I am a former preschool/kindergarten teacher, now stay at home mom to 3 energetic kiddos - 5 year old twin girls, and a 4 year old boy. I met my husband the year I graduated from highschool, and we've been together ever since. We are enjoying life in sunny southern California, where we were both born and raised.

I started scrapbooking in 2006 when I was pregnant with my girls, which led me to stamping and cardmaking a few years later. The point of no return was when I purchased my first Copic marker at a local scrapbook expo 2 years ago... now I'm hooked! I LOVE to color, and it's how I unwind at the end of a busy day! My card making style is fairly clean and simple... I like for the images to be the focus of my creations, so I don't do a lot of embellishing. In addition to Copics, I am also completely obsessed with Kraft Cardstock, and polka dots! I am really looking forward to being a part the YNS team!

Hi! I’m a former kindergarten teacher who is now a stay at home mom to my 2 little girls. My hubby is supportive of all my crafty pursuits and that says a lot about him because I love all kinds of crafts from making headbands, bows, & designing dresses to making party favors and now cards!! I am a newcomer on the stamping scene and have met so many wonderful crafting friends already thanks to the common joy of card making and coloring with Copic markers. I would color all day long if my family would let me…!! Lol! My favorite colors are the blue greens (affectionately called the BG’s) and I try to sneak them into every card I make!! I love to get crafty with my girls (ages 8 & 6) and let them color images right along side me. It’s a fun hobby for us all to share!! A sleepover stamp from YNS was one of my very first stamp purchases & I’ve been in love with Fhiona & friends ever since!! I’m thrilled to be joining the YNS Team with this group of fabulously talented ladies & I can’t wait to share my cards with you!!

Staying busy making cards, altering items, and just having fun with paper is an amazing hobby that I truly fell in love with. I'm very grateful that I have a husband that supports me, that my son loves seeing my creations as well, and my special young lady enjoys getting into my crafts. I truly love the challenge of making something beautiful with the various products available to the crafting industry. I was borne and grew up in a small town Canada. I started paper crafting in the fall of 2007, when I saw a stamping catalogue one of my friends had laying around her home. I took one look through the catalogue and was so excited because I knew I had found my favorite hobby at last! Making Cards. I’m a natural born artist, I completed a graphic arts program in college and worked as an artist for several years a life time ago. I currently work as an office administrator in Toronto where I live with my dog Georgie. Though I absolutely love my job, this hobby is my creative outlet. I believe, the cards I make are like little works of art, expressed from the heart. I find that when I’m making a card for a specific person, I am thinking about that person through the whole process. And that in itself can be the gift.
