Karen --

Just a few more minutes ... visit my blog around 9 EST this a.m. for a fun surprise!

So of course Brandon I were watching the clock and at 9 am we visited her blog and was super surprised and excited this to see that the very talented JIFFY gals chose the adorable YNS Monkey Gone Bananas as their stamp choice this month for their FUN Jiffy challenge! Brandon said...oh mommy a monkey! CUTE!

If you're not familiar with the Jiffy gals they are a group of friends who challenge each other each month to make a card just for fun! One person picks the stamp and another pick the designer paper, thank you Kim for picking Monkey Gone Bananas this month.

Since Carole gave me the heads up I'll share her card with you...

YNS Challenge #30 - Case a YNS DT Member

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for YNS Challenge #30 - Yippee!!! Today's challenge idea comes from the talented Heather Rolin and I must say that I had so much fun casing the DT cards!

What does CASE mean?

For any of you who are unsure as to what CASE is ....CASE is an acronym for Copy And Share Everything. The idea is that you choose a specific piece of work and take inspiration from it. You can be very literal when CASEing and create an exact copy of the work you have chosen as inspiration. Alternatively, you can use the work you have chosen to copy as a starting point, lifting just one or two elements - e.g. the general style of the piece, or perhaps a colour.

I posted a card yesterday where I cased Kerri and today I've got 2 more for you...told you I had fun with this challenge! I actually just might case each and every one of the YNS DT members over the next few weeks!

I cased Wendy for my first card, it's a fun 'save the date' card using one of the new Franfou images Penguin Cheers.  I instantly loved this layout...thanks for the inspiration Wendy!

Here is Wendy's card she made using the limited edition ScrapFest Fhiona stamp...

For my next card I cased Sylvia and made this super cute Merry Mouse Wreath shape card. I couldn't resist adding all the bling...thanks for the inspiration Sylvia!

Here is Sylvia's card...

We are asking you to CASE one of the DT members cards so be sure to hop on over to the YNS Challenge blog for all the details and join in the fun for your chance to win some YNS bucks. YAY!

Let it snow!

Well it's cold enough here to snow...brrrr! We did have a few really large snowflakes recently and Brandon's excitement inspired me to ink up the super adorable Happy Snow Day stamp! Brandon looked out the window and said "mommy, it's winter!!! YAY"

I paired this cutie with my new favorite winter paper by Bo Bunny called Midnight Frost, the colors are amazing and I just love everything about this paper collection. The silver brad I used for the middle of the snowflakes is also from this collection.

Are you ready for some new stamps??? I hope you just yelled at your computer and said "YES"!!! The YNS DT has been working hard creating and we've got a new release blog hop planned for this Thursday Nov 18th so be sure to stop by and check out the new stamps!

Until Thursday...Happy Stamping!

Mini Accordian Album

Here I go again...yep I'm still on a roll with trying new things. FUN! I found this cool tutorial on Splitcoast and just had to try it out! I made mine into a fun holiday album and instead of putting it into a tin as suggested I think I'll attach it onto a gift bag and give it to my mom this Christmas.

Here is the list of materials I used...

Stamps - Mini Christmas Tree (coming soon), Holiday Accessory Set, Penguin Greetings, Mixed Bag of Greetings

Embellies - Gold Flower Soft, Pearls and Crystals, Tinsel, MS Snowflake Punch, Tag Punch, sheer ribbon

Ink/Paint - Twinkling H20's, sponge dauber and ranger distress red and green ink

Paper - Cottage Christmas - Imaginisce, Neenah, shimmer red cardstock for mini tag

Until next time...happy stamping!

First time for everything...

Happy Thursday!

I tried something new! YAY! I've had a sheet of acetate forever and I finally used it to make a Holiday card! I went with earthy tones rather than the traditional white/red/green and I quite like the way it turned out.

(Click the photo for a closer look)

I stamped the Spread the Cheer stamp with a Kaleidacolor ink pad onto vanilla card stock, I love the multi color effect these ink pads create. The background snowflakes are from the snowflake border stamp, I stamped the snowflakes with brown Staz On directly onto the sheet of acetate. I hope you give it try, it's a fun and easy project!

Have a wonderful day!

Happy Stamping!

Holiday Tag

I hope everyone is having a great week! Brandon and I went to the store this afternoon to pick up a few things and I couldn't believe my eyes...all the Christmas/Holiday displays were already up! I shouldn't be surprised but every year I'm shocked at how fast they move from Halloween to Christmas around here...where did October go? This year is just flying by and I thought I'd better start making some Holiday crafts so I have a cute little tag to share with you today that I made using Fhiona's Snowman...

I stamped the snowman with Staz On onto water color paper and I colored this adorable snowman with Twinkling h20's. The pearl set is perfect for winter scenes, I used the oyster for the snowman's body and then added some of the colored twinkling's for the, green, pewter, nutmeg and orange.

The Happy Holidays sentiment is from the Penguin Greetings stamp set. The DP is from the Cottage Christmas 6x6 pad and just in case you are wondering...the nestie I used is the new wonky squares - fun!

I hope you are having fun creating all your holiday cards and projects too!

Until next time...

Happy Stamping!

Trick or Treat

We had a total blast this Halloween! Brandon is such a little cutie, we went to just a few houses around each of the Grandparents neighbourhoods and he just ran from house to house saying "next house, more candy" it was so cute! I think he would have kept going all night if we would have let him.

Here are just a few photos from our trick or treating adventure...

Brandon our little cutie as a Giraffe

First Trick or Treat House

He did say Thank you before running away!

He just had to look to see what they put in the bag! Once he realized it was candy it was go, go, go!

I hope you had a great Halloween too!

I'll be back soon with a fun gift tag I made so until then...

Happy Stamping!

Hello! My name is Kerri Michaud and I’m a stay at home mom to 3 kiddos ages 7, 5, and 2! We currently live in Apopka, Florida which is just outside of Orlando. I got into stamping about 2 years ago after I had my first Stampin’ Up party. I was instantly hooked LOL! Before then I had dabbled in scrapbooking, crocheting, sewing, quilting, jewelry making, and whatever other crafty whims that came my way. I think I have found my true passion in stamping and card making though! I also LOVE to make altered items and little gift boxes, etc. I am soooo excited and honored to be part of the Senior DT for Your Next Stamp! I ADORE these darling images and just love working with Karen and the rest of the DT!

We live in the Shuswap, part of the Northern Okanagan in beautiful British Columbia. I'm so excited to be designing for Your Next Stamp and I hope I can inspire you at least a little with what I create!

Angel Rivera

Angel Rivera <br>Designer
My name is Angel and I’ve been stamping for over 8 years! I also scrapbook from time to time, but prefer making cards or other little projects. I try to escape to my craft room as often as my 3 boys (ages 16, 12 and 10) and all of their extra activities allow! My husband of 19 years, Derek, is supportive of my crafty time because he knows it makes me happy. I also work full time with a wealth management company and am a licensed life and health insurance agent. I’m so excited to be working with Karen and ALL of the YNS crew!

Bonnie Kohane

Bonnie Kohane <br>Designer
I am a second generation SAHM, which i call SAHGM. ("G" for grandma). I have been watching my grandkids for 7 yrs. I am also going through a second generation of crafting, i have a scrapbook that is almost 60yrs old filled with all of my favorite memories. I've been featured in Stamper's Sampler..more of an artsy card magazine...but my style tends to be "cute". Card crafting isn't the only thing i like to do, if i am not working on cards, you'd see me working at my sewing machine, crocheting or trying any new craft technique out there.. i love a challenge..which brings me to say..i can't wait to see what you all create for the YNS challenges!

Brianna Loeffelbein

Brianna Loeffelbein <br>Designer
Hello my name is Brianna also know as Happy Scrapper in the crafting world. I am 26 years old, I am married to a wonderful supportive husband of four years and we have an amazing two year old son Jayden. We live in a small northen town called Brainerd which is located in the state of Minnesota. For the past 7 years, I have been working for our Local UPS Store as store manager and I just love it. When I am not working I am spending time with my family and friends and of course crafting! I have been passionate about crafting my entire life. My main love of course, is Paper Crafting, specifically card making. I also like to sew, bead and crochet and teach others how to show thier creative sides. I am so honored and privileged to be joining such and awesome group of ladies here at YNS, I can’t wait to get started and share all my creations with you!!

Deborah Anton

Deborah Anton <br>Designer
My name is Deborah Anton and I am a stay at home mom to 11 year old twin boys and a wife of 12 years to a patient, loving, and awesome Army Officer. I am originally from California but currently live in Tennessee. I keep pretty busy just on the home-front with my active boys playing different sports, moving every few years, and volunteering with the Army. But in the little "me" time I do get, I love to do anything crafty and hide in my craft room!! I started out 11 years ago designing and creating jewelry for 2 large retailers, which led me to having my own business; until 8 years ago when I met designer paper and glue. A new love relation began! I am so excited to be part of the YNS team and work alongside so many talented ladies!

Jen Roach

Jen Roach <br>Designer
My name is Jennifer and I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband and 3 year old daughter. I'm a scientist by day and a paper crafter by night ---or really just about any free time I have including my lunch breaks at work!!

I started out in paper crafting back in about 2002 when my Mom and I took a scrapbooking class together. A few years later I decided to give card making a try and it's been my passion ever since. I'm the world's slowest scrapbooker so the instant gratification of card making really won me over. Over the years I have used more and more stamping in my designs and I love learning and trying new techniques and styles.

I would probably define myself as a "scrappy stamper". I *LOVE* patterned paper and most of my cards have lots of it with added layered on embellishments and textures. My cards may not be easy to mail but boy are they pretty!!

Other than crafting, I love to play tennis as you can probably tell from my blog address:

Julie Elak

Julie Elak <br>Designer
Hi, I am Julie Elak, aka "The Last Minute Crafter". My days are kept busy working full time and running after my children. I use almost every free minute to craft, my purse is typically full of copics and a pari of scissors. I began stamping well over 10 years ago, but my love for paper crafting found renewed energy once I discovered the online community in 2009. I started a blog on a whim and am so happy I did. I have made many friendships and found so much support and encouragement on-line.

Laura Nehring

Laura Nehring <br>Designer
My name is Laura, and I am SO excited and honored to be joining the Your Next Stamp Team! I am a former preschool/kindergarten teacher, now stay at home mom to 3 energetic kiddos - 5 year old twin girls, and a 4 year old boy. I met my husband the year I graduated from highschool, and we've been together ever since. We are enjoying life in sunny southern California, where we were both born and raised.

I started scrapbooking in 2006 when I was pregnant with my girls, which led me to stamping and cardmaking a few years later. The point of no return was when I purchased my first Copic marker at a local scrapbook expo 2 years ago... now I'm hooked! I LOVE to color, and it's how I unwind at the end of a busy day! My card making style is fairly clean and simple... I like for the images to be the focus of my creations, so I don't do a lot of embellishing. In addition to Copics, I am also completely obsessed with Kraft Cardstock, and polka dots! I am really looking forward to being a part the YNS team!

Nicole Nastali

Nicole Nastali <br>Designer
Hi! I’m a former kindergarten teacher who is now a stay at home mom to my 2 little girls. My hubby is supportive of all my crafty pursuits and that says a lot about him because I love all kinds of crafts from making headbands, bows, & designing dresses to making party favors and now cards!! I am a newcomer on the stamping scene and have met so many wonderful crafting friends already thanks to the common joy of card making and coloring with Copic markers. I would color all day long if my family would let me…!! Lol! My favorite colors are the blue greens (affectionately called the BG’s) and I try to sneak them into every card I make!! I love to get crafty with my girls (ages 8 & 6) and let them color images right along side me. It’s a fun hobby for us all to share!! A sleepover stamp from YNS was one of my very first stamp purchases & I’ve been in love with Fhiona & friends ever since!! I’m thrilled to be joining the YNS Team with this group of fabulously talented ladies & I can’t wait to share my cards with you!!

Ruza Rebel

Ruza Rebel <br>Designer
I'm a former Administrative Assistant turned stay-at-home mom to a very special young lady. I've been crafting since I was a young child, and when I became a SAHM I turned to crafting to stay busy. Staying busy making cards, altering items, and just having fun with paper is an amazing hobby that I truly fell in love with. I'm very grateful that I have a husband that supports me, that my son loves seeing my creations as well, and my special young lady enjoys getting into my crafts. I truly love the challenge of making something beautiful with the various products available to the crafting industry. That is why I am super excited to share my projects featuring the amazing YNS Digital Stamps, and I look forward to seeing your creations as well!

Sheila Veitch

Sheila Veitch <br>Designer
I was borne and grew up in a small town Canada. I started paper crafting in the fall of 2007, when I saw a stamping catalogue one of my friends had laying around her home. I took one look through the catalogue and was so excited because I knew I had found my favorite hobby at last! Making Cards. I’m a natural born artist, I completed a graphic arts program in college and worked as an artist for several years a life time ago. I currently work as an office administrator in Toronto where I live with my dog Georgie. Though I absolutely love my job, this hobby is my creative outlet. I believe, the cards I make are like little works of art, expressed from the heart. I find that when I’m making a card for a specific person, I am thinking about that person through the whole process. And that in itself can be the gift.

Thanh Vo

Thanh Vo <br>Designer
