Here We Grow!

Hi everyone!

While we await the set up of our website I thought I would start a blog to document this wonderful and exciting business venture we've decided to embark upon. At first my small business idea was, well, small and geared towards selling cool and funky embellishments for card making and now it has grown into creating really COOL and funky rubber stamps as well as all my favorite card making supplies. When I say we I mean myself and my super cool big sister who I've leaned on through this entire process. I'm sure she is a little bit terrified to open her email everyday since I am constantly sending her emails that say "check this out" and "what do you think of this" and "can you do this for me?" We all know she too has a healthy addiction for rubber stamps and card making so I know she secretly loves all my emails and long phone calls. I actually would like thank my entire family for all their continued support and shared excitement, I really couldn't do any of this without them. Love you all very much!

So far a lot has happened so here is a brief low down...I've located all the baubles and bling for Your Next Stamp store as well as Copic markers and really cool ribbon and paper but I have to admit the most exciting find is Fhiona Galloway! She has designed the most adorable stamp character ever and we just love her! This rubber stamp character is so sweet and cute that we decided to name her after her designer :) We hope to launch this exciting new line of "Fhiona" stamps this summer. Trust me when I say you will just adore her and all the fun adventures she will take you on during all your card making bliss!

Also in the works we've got some Alicia Charlton, Franfou and hopefully a few others that are in the pipeline designing some super cute and funky stamp designs that we hope will please many different card making styles. We can't wait to see what they come up with!

I will visit here often to document all of my exciting progress! In the meantime happy stamping everyone!

YNS Digital Stamp Tips!

We've gathered some tips from our fabulous DT to help you get the most out of your YNS Digital Stamps!!!

Angel's Digi Tip...

I love my Neenah paper for ALL of my images, particularly when I know I’ll be using my copics to color my images (which is 98% of the time!).   I always size my images so that they fit nicely in one corner of my paper – not too big, not too small.

Deborah's Digi Tip...

I print my images on X-press it white cardstock or even on Georgia Pacific white cardstock and shoot it with my heat gun for a moment to be sure the ink set. I usually color my images with Copics, but there are those rare times I will color with my Koh-I-Noor colored pencils. In that case, once I have printed on the computer, I will still shoot it with my heat gun, but will also spray the paper lightly with my Krylon Workable Fixative to help with smudging and smearing.

Sheila's Digi Tip...

I place the digi images in Microsoft Word leaving lots of space around (usually 3 per page) so they can be die cut if I want to. I will then print onto Stampin' Up's Whisper White cardstock from my desktop laser printer at work and by the time I get them home they are set. I use my Copic markers or coloured pencils and gamsol.

Nicole's Digi Tip...

For digis, I always print out a "test print" on regular copy paper and center my image on the page.
I determine what size of card I am going to make and size the image up or down depending on if I will fussy cut it or use a die to cut it out.
I use DP or X-press it blending card and tape a piece of it down over the image with washi tape.
I then run this page through my printer one more time for the desired number of times. I only print out the image one time on X-press it blending card to be colored with copics and a few times with different DP if I am paper piecing. By placing the DP over the desired areas to be cut out, it saves me paper and I can actually use smaller scraps of DP, as well. When I am done with this process, the "test print" copy page goes to my girls to be colored. (Sometimes I need to make 2 copies... so they are both happy!!) :) :) :)

Bonnie's Digi Tip...

Copic X-press it paper w/computer scrap paper and cardboard under the marker paper as I color in case it bleeds through.
I try to print out a full sheet of digis at one time, so I don’t waste the expensive paper.
Or/ and I’ll save the scraps to hand stamp on.

I usually print my images out about 3” tall.
I also hand cut the majority of my images out so a sharp razor thin pointy scissor blade is what I use, literally the blade is barely wider than the line I cut.
When hand cutting ( fussy cutting) I don’t cut “on” the black line but right up to it leaving no white, but making sure the black outside line is visible.
When paper piecing digis, I double side tape designer paper to computer paper and run it through my printer. Beware, it can jam your printer. I find if I tape the designer paper even with the top of the computer paper the printer wheels tend to grab it better.
Ruza's Digi Tip...

I have an Epson WF-3540 inkjet printer, and print my Digital Stamps using the High Quality setting on Neenah Solar White 80# Smooth cardstock. I always print a full page of Digital Stamps at a time. I insert my Digital Stamps into a MS Word document and size them accordingly. It depends on how much detail is on the stamp ... from 3" up to 4".

I use Copic Markers when coloring my images, whether digital ... rubber ... or clear, and always place a mat underneath to prevent the markers from getting on my work surface as they do tend to bleed through.

I tend to cut out all of the images that I work with since I like to layer my images, and paper-piece them onto a blank image.
Brianna's Digi Tip...

When I Print my Digital stamps, I make sure to print in High Quality Grayscale so I can use my alcohol markers. This is a must when using alcohol markers so it won't smear your ink. After I print them out I like to quickly take my heat gun to it just to make sure the ink is dry before I color then.

You are welcome to contact us if you have any questions regarding our Digital Stamps.

Happy Stamping!

Hello! My name is Kerri Michaud and I’m a stay at home mom to 3 kiddos ages 7, 5, and 2! We currently live in Apopka, Florida which is just outside of Orlando. I got into stamping about 2 years ago after I had my first Stampin’ Up party. I was instantly hooked LOL! Before then I had dabbled in scrapbooking, crocheting, sewing, quilting, jewelry making, and whatever other crafty whims that came my way. I think I have found my true passion in stamping and card making though! I also LOVE to make altered items and little gift boxes, etc. I am soooo excited and honored to be part of the Senior DT for Your Next Stamp! I ADORE these darling images and just love working with Karen and the rest of the DT!

Angel Rivera

Angel Rivera <br>Designer
My name is Angel and I’ve been stamping for over 8 years! I also scrapbook from time to time, but prefer making cards or other little projects. I try to escape to my craft room as often as my 3 boys (ages 16, 12 and 10) and all of their extra activities allow! My husband of 19 years, Derek, is supportive of my crafty time because he knows it makes me happy. Bonnie Kohane

Bonnie Kohane <br>Designer
I am a second generation SAHM, which i call SAHGM. ("G" for grandma). I have been watching my grandkids for 7 yrs. I am also going through a second generation of crafting, i have a scrapbook that is almost 60yrs old filled with all of my favorite memories. I've been featured in Stamper's Sampler..more of an artsy card magazine...but my style tends to be "cute". Card crafting isn't the only thing i like to do, if i am not working on cards, you'd see me working at my sewing machine, crocheting or trying any new craft technique out there.. i love a challenge..which brings me to say..i can't wait to see what you all create for the YNS challenges!

Brianna Loeffelbein

Brianna Loeffelbein <br>Designer

I am 26 years old, I am married to a wonderful supportive husband of four years and we have an amazing two year old son Jayden. We live in a small northen town called Brainerd which is located in the state of Minnesota. For the past 7 years, I have been working for our Local UPS Store as store manager and I just love it. When I am not working I am spending time with my family and friends and of course crafting! I have been passionate about crafting my entire life. My main love of course, is Paper Crafting, specifically card making. I also like to sew, bead and crochet and teach others how to show thier creative sides. I am so honored and privileged to be joining such and awesome group of ladies here at YNS, I can’t wait to get started and share all my creations with you!!

Deborah Anton

Deborah Anton <br>Designer
My name is Deborah Anton and I am a stay at home mom to 11 year old twin boys and a wife of 12 years to a patient, loving, and awesome Army Officer. I am originally from California but currently live in Tennessee. I keep pretty busy just on the home-front with my active boys playing different sports, moving every few years, and volunteering with the Army. But in the little "me" time I do get, I love to do anything crafty and hide in my craft room!! I started out 11 years ago designing and creating jewelry for 2 large retailers, which led me to having my own business; until 8 years ago when I met designer paper and glue. A new love relation began! I am so excited to be part of the YNS team and work alongside so many talented ladies!

Jen Roach

Jen Roach <br>Designer
My name is Jennifer and I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband and 3 year old daughter. I'm a scientist by day and a paper crafter by night ---or really just about any free time I have including my lunch breaks at work!!

I started out in paper crafting back in about 2002 when my Mom and I took a scrapbooking class together. A few years later I decided to give card making a try and it's been my passion ever since. I'm the world's slowest scrapbooker so the instant gratification of card making really won me over. Over the years I have used more and more stamping in my designs and I love learning and trying new techniques and styles.

I would probably define myself as a "scrappy stamper". I *LOVE* patterned paper and most of my cards have lots of it with added layered on embellishments and textures. My cards may not be easy to mail but boy are they pretty!!

Other than crafting, I love to play tennis as you can probably tell from my blog address:

Julie Elak

Julie Elak <br>Designer
Hi, I am Julie Elak, aka "The Last Minute Crafter". My days are kept busy working full time and running after my children. I use almost every free minute to craft, my purse is typically full of copics and a pari of scissors. I began stamping well over 10 years ago, but my love for paper crafting found renewed energy once I discovered the online community in 2009. I started a blog on a whim and am so happy I did. I have made many friendships and found so much support and encouragement on-line.

Laura Nehring

Laura Nehring <br>Designer
My name is Laura, and I am SO excited and honored to be joining the Your Next Stamp Team! I am a former preschool/kindergarten teacher, now stay at home mom to 3 energetic kiddos - 5 year old twin girls, and a 4 year old boy. I met my husband the year I graduated from highschool, and we've been together ever since. We are enjoying life in sunny southern California, where we were both born and raised.

I started scrapbooking in 2006 when I was pregnant with my girls, which led me to stamping and cardmaking a few years later. The point of no return was when I purchased my first Copic marker at a local scrapbook expo 2 years ago... now I'm hooked! I LOVE to color, and it's how I unwind at the end of a busy day! My card making style is fairly clean and simple... I like for the images to be the focus of my creations, so I don't do a lot of embellishing. In addition to Copics, I am also completely obsessed with Kraft Cardstock, and polka dots! I am really looking forward to being a part the YNS team!

Nicole Nastali

Nicole Nastali <br>Designer
Hi! I’m a former kindergarten teacher who is now a stay at home mom to my 2 little girls. My hubby is supportive of all my crafty pursuits and that says a lot about him because I love all kinds of crafts from making headbands, bows, & designing dresses to making party favors and now cards!! I am a newcomer on the stamping scene and have met so many wonderful crafting friends already thanks to the common joy of card making and coloring with Copic markers. I would color all day long if my family would let me…!! Lol! My favorite colors are the blue greens (affectionately called the BG’s) and I try to sneak them into every card I make!! I love to get crafty with my girls (ages 8 & 6) and let them color images right along side me. It’s a fun hobby for us all to share!! A sleepover stamp from YNS was one of my very first stamp purchases & I’ve been in love with Fhiona & friends ever since!! I’m thrilled to be joining the YNS Team with this group of fabulously talented ladies & I can’t wait to share my cards with you!!

Ruza Rebel

Ruza Rebel <br>Designer
I'm a former Administrative Assistant turned stay-at-home mom to a very special young lady. I've been crafting since I was a young child, and when I became a SAHM I turned to crafting to stay busy. Staying busy making cards, altering items, and just having fun with paper is an amazing hobby that I truly fell in love with. I'm very grateful that I have a husband that supports me, that my son loves seeing my creations as well, and my special young lady enjoys getting into my crafts. I truly love the challenge of making something beautiful with the various products available to the crafting industry. That is why I am super excited to share my projects featuring the amazing YNS Digital Stamps, and I look forward to seeing your creations as well!

Sheila Veitch

Sheila Veitch <br>Designer
I was borne and grew up in a small town Canada. I started paper crafting in the fall of 2007, when I saw a stamping catalogue one of my friends had laying around her home. I took one look through the catalogue and was so excited because I knew I had found my favorite hobby at last! Making Cards. I’m a natural born artist, I completed a graphic arts program in college and worked as an artist for several years a life time ago. I currently work as an office administrator in Toronto where I live with my dog Georgie. Though I absolutely love my job, this hobby is my creative outlet. I believe, the cards I make are like little works of art, expressed from the heart. I find that when I’m making a card for a specific person, I am thinking about that person through the whole process. And that in itself can be the gift.

Thanh Vo
